Child-Targeted Ministry

It's amazing how easily this value can get turned around.

Because adult volunteers serve in children's ministry, it's easy to start doing things that please adults instead of focusing on the target audience. It's important to be very clear that we are trying to reach children!

Just as missionaries immerse themselves in the culture of the people they are trying to reach, we want to immerse ourselves into and know the culture of children today. Will you do what you need to in order to reach this generation for Christ?

The Promiseland curriculum uses the arts to reach children in relevant ways. Drama, video and contemporary music are all incorporated into the materials.

The curriculum also gives ideas for activities that are age appropriate and engaging to children. The décor in the classroom needs to communicate that in these rooms children are treasured. To create a ministry that reaches, teaches and loves children, we must look at everything we do through a child's eyes.

The commitment to be child-targeted is absolutely non-negotiable.
