The Metamorphosis Promiseland Curriculum is created to help you impact the lives of children for Christ as you focus on the book of Proverbs and the amazing life change described in Romans 12:2.
"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." Romans 12:2 (NLT)
In the first nine weeks of this 10-week curriculum, your Large Group team becomes the Insect-Inside Theater Company and presents a "bug parable" to show children an example of "worldly behavior" (such as telling lies or acting impatiently).
The Large Group Teacher presents the verse from Proverbs, which shows how we can change the way we think about that worldly behavior. Children learn that this change in our thinking results in God transforming us.
The Team Time life application activity then guides children into what God wants them to do – so they can put their newly changed thinking into action in their lives and know "how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is."
Children will discover that God wants us all to experience a "metamorphosis" as we learn from the Bible and then change our attitudes and relationships, the way we talk, and the way we work.
Finally, in Lesson 10, children will learn about the "Ultimate Metamorphosis" God wants us to experience – when we become forever friends with His Son, Jesus.
To help teach these lessons, the curriculum is divided into four units, as outlined in the Scope and Sequence.
